Louise Emma Carlson Rogers, 97, of Hernando, Mississippi passed away at her home on Saturday, July 9, 2016. She was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 1918 to Walter and Emma Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters, Ruth C. Scott, Eunice C. Cole and Viola C. Alpe; and one brother Walter J. Carlson.

She is survived her sons, Robert E. Rogers and Raymond H. Rogers (Margaret); five grandchildren, Victoria Ferguson, Elizabeth Shelton, Ona Rogers, Bobbie Hamilton, Christine Beardsley; six greatgrandchildren; three greatgreat- grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Carlson and William Carlson.

Before moving to Hernando in the 1990s, Mrs. Rogers was a resident of Crittenden County, Arkansas, for more than 70 years. She helped with office work for the Carlson family farming operations for many years.

The family thanks Gentiva Hospice and especially Diane Warren, caregiver.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, at 10 a.m., at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.

David Franklin Simpson

David Franklin Simpson, 60, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Memphis and worked at Kroger for 37 years as a meat cutter and later as a market manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing music with his sons.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debbie Evans Simpson; his sons, David Jacob Simpson and Adam Franklin Simpson; his mother, Anna Marion Simpson; four sisters, Mary Vickers (Ernie), Becky Peden, Cindy Johnson (Joe), and Peggy White; brother- in-law, Thomas “Sonny” Evans; six nephews; and 10 nieces.

He is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Simpson.

Visitation was held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home on Sunday, July 10. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in West Memphis on Monday, July 11, at 2 p.m.
