River Trail Rolling Along

A river barge is pictured motoring down the Mississippi from a finished section of the Big River Crossing on Harahan Bridge boardwalk. The bicycle and pedestrian platform will span the river 10 stories above the water connecting the Main2Main project in Memphis with the Delta Regional River Park in West Memphis. Grand Opening for the crossing is set for Oct. 22.

An aerial view of Harahan Bridge stands along side the Frisco Bridge used for rail traffic and the Memphis Arkansas Bridge supporting Interstate 55. The Big River Crossing uses some of the original highway on the 100 year old Harahan. The Harahan centennial is July 14.

An labeled overhead view highlights spot along the bicycling tourism circuit along both sides of the River. The West Memphis Eco-Park was recently renamed the Delta Regional River Park. The park along with the Big River Crossing are set to open simultaneously toward the end of October.
