Well about all these wrecks around Marion just check phone records. I’ll c why can’t text and drive same time! Go phone head! [ Editor’s Note: I’m going to start using the term “ phone head” to identify people who use suffer from phone addiction. It seems, like “ crack head,” rather appropriate. And yes, I’d imagine there’d be a lot fewer wrecks if folks would keep their head out of their apps ( I stole that one from TDOT)]

*** There is a serious out break of bed bug at Northoak apartment in Earle, Ar. And McNeil apartments in Crawfordsville, Ar something need to be done about it this very serious infestation of bed bugs. [ Editor’s Note: For Pete’s sake, don’t call me! Call the Health Department, ACME Pest Control, someone who can do something about it!]

*** Get on Facebook and go to Ethel’s old airport club and you will see the video that Mr. Floyd is in and judge for yourself if this is the proper way to raise money for St. Mary’s Episcopal church winter rose project. [ Editor’s Note: Finally, someone provided enough information about this nefarious deed that Mr. Floyd perpetrated. I did as you instructed. For those of you who don’t Facebook or don’t want to watch the video, I will describe said video. Mr. Floyd, donned in a firefighter’s helmet, a T- shirt, a pair of red bloomers and nothing more than a smile, is depicted washing cars, getting full- on into the character of a “ sexy car wash attendant.” He’s got a crowd of supporters and they’re all having a big time. Yeah, it’s pretty “ out there.” But I will add, it’s all a fundraising effort for the Winter Rose Project, an organization dedicated to the protection and care of homeless women in the Memphis area. So, here’s my take: Who cares? I mean, no one is forcing you to watch this video. If it offended you, click the “ stop” button. Yes, Mr. Floyd looks and acts ridiculous in the video. So what? It’s not like the mayor was at the Chamber of Commerce banquet and introduced Street Supervisor Gordon Floyd’s provocative car washing routine as the evening’s entertain-ment. As far as being a “ proper way” to raise money for Winter Rose? Is there an improper way to raise money for a worthy cause? OK, I suppose prostitution or drug traf-ficking. But as far as Mr. Floyd wiggling around with a fire hose. Eh, I feel like I might be able to let that one slide… I’m not watching that video again, though]

*** Can I just ask WHYthe Delta Market is on a week day?? We are promoting something people may want to come to but can’t due to real JOBS. Are we just trying to get the vendors participation fee or just advertising our unemployment rate? It baffles me. I would LOVE to attend or even participate with a booth but in the years it’s been here have never been able to because of this. Can we rethink this or can someone give me a genuine valid answer why its ALWAYS on a week day? [ Editor’s Note: I guess the Delta Market is always going to be one of those “ you can’t please every-one” kind of deals. Now in its fifth year, the Delta Market has struggled to find the ideal format. While this year’s plan of holding it at ASU Mid-South seems to be a hit, previous years’ efforts have all had their problems. They’ve tried several formats. The first year, it was every other Thursday afternoon at Worthington Park. The second year, it was Tuesday mornings. The third year, it was moved to the grassy knoll by the WMCOC building and held on Saturdays ( yes, Saturdays).

I’m sorry you can’t make it to the market in its current format, but they’re just trying to make it work, and this way seems to be working]

*** Fri. June 24. Someone left one of the most important pages of the paper out, personally I wouldn’t take the paper if I could no read dr.

Article & dear abbey. Oops, dont forget the puzzles!

[ Editor’s Note: After reading this, it took me several tries to figure out how that page disappeared, eventually realizing that one of the classified pages repeated. I’m not sure how we all missed it, as many eyes as we have on the paper each morning. I guess since it didn’t “ look wrong” just running through the press check, it just happened. Apologies all around. I know many readers, including my Mom, are all about the crossword puzzle, so let me assure you we will take every measure to avoid such an issue again]

*** Could someone do something about the huge bumps on the service road in front of Walmart gas, near Avalon and in front of the Walmart store? Who is in charge of fixes on the service road? Our car is low and it kills us to hit those bumps. We have to slow way down and hope we don’t get hit from the rear. [ Editor’s Note: Short answer, Yes! Someone could do something. And you’re right. It is terrible. I drive a full size truck, and we get rattled every time we head down that road. The service road is a state- maintained road. Those guys probably don’t read “ Text the Times,” but you can always contact them directly to voice your concerns. The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department phone number is ( 501) 569- 2374. Their e- mail is info@ ahtd. ar. gov]
