Here is a picture of the fox. He and four little foxes were spotted in this back yard on West Barton. [ Editor’s Note: Ask and ye shall receive. Thanks… but one of those looks a little like a Pomeranian]

*** Why do the City of Earle cry about the gas when the cops there just ride around the little city all day n nite long. That where the gas go. [ Editor’s Note: That’s probably why they cry about gas]

*** This is in response to the text in the paper dated 06-22-2016 concerning Mr. Floyd. This was done for charity and he raised $100.00 for the women’s shelter. What have YOU done lately for any charity? I would suggest you find out all the facts before you run your mouth. Thanks. [ Editor’s Note: What am I missing out on here? I’m all for raising money for a women’s shelter, but what was he doing? My usually reliable sources are coming up empty here]

*** Mayor Carolyn Jones is right, she deserves that respect. I must say that the council body needs to cool off a while. Cross and Malone is behind a lot of that mess, Malone wants the mayors chair but he can’t handle it. Don’t think that this is not been his intentions for 2 years. [ Editor’s Note: I don’t know Mr. Malone’s political aspirations, but I do know that the past year- and- a- half of political posturing hasn’t done the City of Earle any good whatsoever. The window for filing the recall petition that was cirulating earlier this year is coming up. I don’t know if the climate has settled down to the point that it’s no longer happening, or if this is the calm before the political storm that the recall will kick off in July. My only other comment is that respect is a twoway street]

*** Earle Mayor Jones insists on peacefully conducted meetings. Modeling self control on her part would go a long way toward a fresh start. [ Editor’s Note: I’m not sure if a fresh start is possible given the past 18 months of turmoil there, but I suppose crazier things have happened]

*** What local businesses do you think we should support?

[ Editor’s Note: Boy, that’s a loaded question! The easy answer is, of course, that we should support all of our local businesses. Every dollar that we can keep in Crittenden County benefits everyone in the long run. And not every “ local” business is actually locally- owned. But just because it’s summer time, and I never have a bad experience there, I’ll offer a shout- out to Hawaiian Breeze, right there on Missouri Street across from McDonald’s and Krystal. It’s hot outside, and they’ve got great snowcones! We’ve turned it into our post- game pit stop this softball season]
