Fresh produce, food trucks, more draw crowd

It was hot for the second monthly Delta Market at ASU-Mid South Tuesday.
Not only were the temperatures warmer than the seasonal average but business was really cooking.
Business was brisk, too.
Some vegetable vendors doubled their offerings from the outing in May but ran out of big tomatoes in before noon anyway.
The noontime crowd gathered for some eats around canopy covered concession stands or food trucks, including military members in town for the Greyhound Medical Clinic at Lehr Arena. Despite the heat, some opted for shaded tables on the grounds to enjoy a picnic lunch.
One new vendor at the Delta Market, Memphis Bubble Balls, literally had folks bouncing off each other as they took turns in the inflatable fun spheres.
Event Coordinator John Auker of Delta Cuisine and the Kitchen Incubator located at the college shared his perspective on the growth.
“Last month we had 16 vendors, today we have 20,” said Auker. “We are developing a lot of business prospect to use the kitchen incubator. I talked today with someone wanted to develop their own spaghetti sauce.”
