Elton A. Rieves III passes away

Attorney, family were longtime fixtures in the community

ralphhardin@gmail.com Elton Allison “Bubba” Rieves, III, a prominent attorney in Mountain View, originally from Crittenden County, died Monday, following a fall.

Rieves was a longtime part of the community, practicing law, following in the footsteps of his father.

According to his son, Richard, Rieves fell at his home, hitting his head last Saturday, succumbing to his injuries late Monday.

“He was airlifted to a hospital in Little Rock and was in a coma until this morning,” Richard Rieves said.

After practicing law with Rieves, Rubens & Mayton Law Firm in West Memphis, Rieves moved to Mountain View, where he opened Elton A. Rieves III & Associates, where he practiced until his death.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, at 9 a.m., at Crittenden Memorial Park.
