Jimmy “Big Jim” Bailes, 66, of Turrell, died on Friday, May 27, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan Bailes and Vietta Lute Bailes; four sisters, Lucille Asberry, Francis Porterfield, Rosie Bailes and Dorothy Raymond; and a brother, Richard Bailes.

Survivors include a brother, Aubrey Bailes (Linda) of Turrell; four nieces, Tammy Morgan (Tom), Betty Jo Palmer (Flip) Leigh Ann Kline (Jim) and Sissy Porterfield (Bo); a nephew, Jackie Porterfield; as well as many other family members and friends.

The visitation will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis on Thursday, June 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service to follow, beginning at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation; the Humane Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Shirley Marie Laxson

Shirley Marie Laxson, 66, of West Memphis, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016.

She is survived by a son, Shane Lee Laxson; four grandchildren, Nick, Chris, Ashley, and Jessica; and a sister, Betty Ward.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Gene Laxson.

A graveside service will be held at Crittenden Memorial Park on Thursday, June 23rd at 2 p.m.
