Former Marion man earns MMI degree

Ferguson commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant

Benjamin Lehr Ferguson, a former resident of Marion, Arkansas and a 2014 graduate of Patch High School in Stuttgart, Germany, received his Associate Degree from the Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama, on May 7.

While at Marion Institute, Ben was involved in the Early Commissioning Program, Ranger Challenge, Honor Guard, and the Normandy Society. He also participated in the 2016 Bataan Memorial Death March in New Mexico.

On May 7, Ben was also commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army.

Ben will continue his studies this fall at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, where he will serve in the Vermont National

Guard.

Ben is the son of Tim and Susan Ferguson, Stuttgart,

Germany. He is the grandson of Barbara Lehr and the late Bob Lehr of West Memphis, and Betty Ferguson and the late Ben Ferguson, Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
