Crittenden County Resident Robert Reed stopped by the Evening Times’ offices to buy some papers on his way out of town to deliver this snazzy Piggly Wiggly sign. Reed indicated he had two dozen new sign deliveries to make for the grocery store chain this year. Piggly Wiggly got its start back in the day, right across the bridge, at 79 Jefferson Ave., in Memphis, by Clarence Saunders, a hundred years ago, Sept. 6, 1916.
