America reminds me of Peter walking on the water

Now I know that a lot of you have heard the story of Peter walking on the water to meet Jesus, who was walking on the water also. You remember in the story, Peter saw Jesus walking out there and called to him and said let me come out to you, and Jesus said just come to me, Peter, and keep your eyes on me.

Now I can't say that Peter had any pride in himself at that moment, but he may possibly have thought like a lot of us, look at me and what I can do. But the reason that it reminds me of America, is the way, if you remember, when Peter took his eyes off of Jesus and started to think what he was doing, he slowly began to sink.

Back a few years ago, we took a lot of pride not only in our country but also in our love for God, and were more than willing to fight for it, and not be ashamed to shout it from the highest hills. But it looks to me like that time has passed, regardless of what some try to convince you.

A few years back, we were much more willing to call perversion and all of the other kinds of sinful and ungodly things out into the light, but today that's just not politically correct, and so it just doesn't happen. But we’ve got to remember one thing: with all those blessings that God has poured out on this country through the years, we owe a debt to him that we can't possibly pay, except with our love for him and our prayers of thankfulness. But today, with the way we are living, we are totally unwilling to love him back, so be assured that he will collect it one day.

I read somewhere the other day that just a few years ago, in the world, we as a nation were in first place in math and in second place in science, and now we are far down in math, and even past that in science, but as a lot of you will proudly say, yeah, but we are number one in aborted babies so we still have a number one in the world.

Can't you just envision Jesus looking down from heaven and thinking I told the world ages ago that the hardening of man's heart would bring on destruction and if you refuse to see it then you must have blinders on because it's everywhere you look? Now back to Peter when Peter started to sink I'm sure the first thing he thought was oh me what have I got myself into but as always when all of us that belong to him start doing things that we shouldn't we start thinking the same thing as Peter and who always comes to our rescue yep the same one that walked over to where Peter was sinking and took him by his hand and pulled him back up and this is the same way he has to do America every once in awhile and I believe with a tear in his eye because she takes her eyes off of him but be assured that when that happens it is because a lot of his followers are on their knees asking him to please intervene and save our country.

Now here is a little food for thought: when all those that get on those knees and ask God to continue to bless this nation are not here anymore, it will sure put a lot of pressure on those that don't think that anything is wrong with America, and the way we are living is OK, and it's OK to keep doing the same thing, but one day they will look up and wonder what is going on because we were able to do that yesterday and it was ok. But God has to step in and let you know that he won’t take it anymore, and that's bad for the ones that want to keep things as they are, so take a minute and think about that. Remember those people that thought the same way years ago and then there was something that happen that was called a flood.

Remember after Adam and Eve were put out of the garden, God started the process of wanting to heal the land and that's not talking about the dirt but the people but as always there was a condition and that was we turn from our wicked ways and seek his face and he would do that very thing, but just like then they would not have any part of that and neither will we today, so we merrily go on down this road of self gratification but with the end being our own destruction and mostly because so many wanting this thing called political correctness, so it just don't show that the outcome for America is going to be a good one but time will tell and if it's anything like I see it, then you had better get a good grip because we are just starting on a very wild ride ahead.

But anyway, try to think about what God wants and not so much what we want. So, may God bless every one of you and your loved ones and try to think how much that you and I need God in our lives, because without him it's a very dark place.
