Beth Murphree Casey, 53, of Marion died on Thursday, May 26, 2016, due to a tragic accident while on a camping trip with family in Arkansas.

Beth asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the Missouri Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and had many very close friends. She was a dedicated nurse at St. Jude Hospital and was passionate about working with children her entire nursing career. Beth was a friend and mentor to many people, and used her God given gifts to help out in whatever way that she could. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bob and Virginia Barfield; and also by her paternal grandparents, Hughie and Helen Murphree; and an aunt, Gay Williams.

Survivors include her parents, George Martin Murphree and Suzanne Barfield Murphree of Marion; a brother, Ken Murphree (Beth Ann) of Marion; a niece and nephew, Ella Grace and Matthew Murphree; also two cousins, Andrea Drake (Tom) of Bonita Springs, Florida and Cheska Williams (Brian Lien) and their children, Kalani, Leilani and Makana, all of Paige, Texas.

The visitation will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis on Tuesday, May 31, from 10 until 11 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m.

Interment will take place at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

Memorial donations in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Charlie Eugene Marter

Charlie Eugene Marter, 69, of Marion passed away Monday, May 30, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Page and Dorothy Marter and his brother, Ernest “Pete” Marter.

He was survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy Marter of Marion; his two daughters, Bangie Marter Camper (Justin) of Marion and Brandi Marter of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Lily Camper, Maddox Camper, Hadley Jo Camper, Hayes Eugene Camper; two sisters, Shirley Vance (Ben) of Marion, Jeanine Marter of Marion; and one brother, Lester Marter of Searcy.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. Services will be on Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

Vera “Brook” Neal

Vera “Brook” Neal, 35, of West Memphis passed away Monday, May 30, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Henry C. Smith and her grandmother, Vera Beal.

She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Adam Neal of West Memphis; her son, Mark Avery Neal; and her daughter, Meghan Elizabeth Neal both of West Memphis; her parents, Mark and Janet Long of West Memphis; and her father and mother in law, Wendale and Debbie Neal of West Memphis.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. Services will be on Thursday, at 2 p.m. at the West Memphis United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
