• Earle Basketball Celebration of Champions – Will be Saturday, May 28 at 1 p.m. The awards program will be held in the Gymnasium and a Fellowship Fish Fry will immediately follow in the Cafeteria at the Earle High School. The community is invited to help celebrate the Senior High Girls and Boys teams winning the Arkansas State Championship and the Jr. High Girls and Boys teams for winning the District and Regional Championships. • Early Registration for Kindergarten at Avondale Elementary – Now through Friday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those students who are fully registered are invited to participate in Avondale’s “KINDERGARTEN KAMP” Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. or on Thursday, Aug. 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. For registration requirements call 870735-4588.

• Good Neighbor Center and Memphis Food Bank Mobile Food Giveaway – Friday, May 27 at Old St. Paul Church, 504 S. 8th St., West Memphis from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

• Memorial Services – VFW Post 5225 will present services honoring our veterans at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion on Monday, May 30. Service begins at 8:30 a.m. and is open to the public.

• West Memphis Holiday Sanitation Schedule – No service Monday, May 30th. Monday, May 30th and Tuesday, May 31st customers will be serviced on Tuesday, May 31st. Regular schedule resumes on Wednesday, June 1.

• Workforce Development Board Meetings – Youth Committee Wednesday, June 1 at 10 a.m. Executive Committee Thursday, June 16 at 10 a.m. WDB Tuesday, June 21 at 10 a.m. and CEO Friday, June 24 at 8:30 a.m. All meetings at the Arkansas Workforce Center in Forrest City,

• Hope House – Qualified individuals will receive food distribution June 3 at a new location, the Marion Sports Complex. The location is no longer Marion Baptist.

• West Memphis Class of 1964 70th Birthday Bash – Beginning Friday, June 3 at 6 p.m. at Panchos Mexican Restaurant in the back party room. Buffet meal $16 a person. Saturday, June 4 at the Country Club beginning at 6 p.m. for visiting. Meal at 7 p.m. DJ at 8 until 11:30 or so. $40 per person. Other classmates are also invited. • Small Fry Triathlon – Brunetti Field in Marion on Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. until noon. A great race for kids ages 2-6! The athletes will run 25 yards, bike/trike 50 yards and “swim” through water spray for 10 yards. Each racer gets a racing bib, T-shirt and gold medal. $20 per child, after May 27th $25 per child.
