Pancake Breakfast

The Horseshoe Lake Volunteer Fire Department will have a Pancake Breakfast on May 28, from 7 to 9 a.m., at the Fire Station at 181 Lake Estates Drive.

Bass Tournament

Arkansas Bass Classic held a Bass Tournament on May 14 at the Surf Club. First Place of $ 1,000 went to the Dewayne Scarbrough Team, with 18.85 pounds; Second Place of $500 went to the Roy Harness Team, with 16.35 pounds; and Third Place of $300 went to the John Kellems Team with 13.10 pounds. Terry Tarr won Big Fish, weighing 5.15 pounds (after a half pound penalty); he received a Yeti Cooler. Arkansas Bass Classic hopes to have another tournament this time next year at Horseshoe Lake.

Condolences

Our prayers and thoughts go out to Mrs. Carolyn Roe of Horseshoe Lake, for the loss of her husband, Sam Roe. He passed away on May 16.

4th of July

The Fourth of July Shirts are in and for sale at Bond’s Grocery. This year the TShirts are red and the Tank Style tops are white. They are $ 20 each, and all proceeds go towards, the purchase of shirts, fireworks and trophies. Members from the Surf Club are encouraged to attend a meeting, this Sunday, May 22, at 2p.m., at the Surf Club building to discuss details for the 4th of July events at the Surf Club. This year the 5K, “Tour de Horseshoe” Bike Race, Pier Judging, Boat Parade and Fireworks will all take place on Saturday, July 2.
