Senior banquet at the Academies of West Memphis

The buffet line included lots of good Central Barbecue.

26 seniors post a 3.0 GPA or greater

WM School District Academies of West Memphis senior athletes were honored Monday night at the annual sports banquet at the school's cafeteria.

The banquet was sponsored by Platinum Corporate Members Fidelity National Bank and Southland Park Gaming and Racing and Bronze Corporate Members Fogleman, Rogers and Coe Attorneys and Kevin Waller-Frasure's Barber Shop.

The meal was catered by Central Barbecue.

Twenty-six scholar athletes were honored for having GPA's 3.0 or above. They include: Summer Abram, Ahmere Albert, Laura Allen, Brandon Atwood, Tia Barden, Joseph Branch, Amesha Brown, Alize Culpepper, Zachary Dantzler, Sable Greer, Dylan Gazo, Kelsey Henson, Martavious Johnson, Katy King, Parker King, Hayley Nowlin, Shelly Perry, Jacara Pope, Robin Pulliam, Katherine Reece, Le'Darius Scott, Deronai Sims, Charles Smith, Kevin Smith, Sara Kate Spurlock, Kayle Stewart, Mariah Stokes, Niyah Townsend, Tabetha Troxler, Jordan Walls, Nautica Woodley, Gary Ward and Trevor Wise.

Coaches from each sport gave a brief overview of their seasons and recognized the senior athletes on their teams. Football player T.J. Gray was given the Brandon Burlsworth Award by head coach Billy Elmore.
