Cross County Library hosts ‘ Creative Culture’ display

Parkin Archeological Park The Cross County Arts Council, Parkin Archeological State Park, and the Cross County Library in Wynne have joined together to celebrate Arkansas Heritage Month. This year's theme is 'Celebrating our Creative Culture' and the Park hosted and event for the Wynne 3rd and 4th grade students, where the students learned how to make many of the different artworks perfected by the Mississippian Indians at Parkin 500 years ago. The best 'rock art', copper gorgets, wooden gorgets, and pottery vessels were chosen for an art exhibit for the public to enjoy from now until May 27, at the Cross County Library, located at 410 E. Merriman Ave., in Wynne.

Library hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This program was made possible in part by a grant from the Department of Arkansas Heritage, funded by a 1/8-cent conservation tax, Amendment 75.
