Parents can register children now for kindergarten

Early registration at Avondale Elementary through May 27

Early registration for kindergarten at Avondale Elementary is underway and will continue daily through Friday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those students who are fully registered are invited to participate in Avondale's 'KINDERGARTEN KAMP' that will take place on Wednesday, Aug.

3, from 9 to 11 a.m., or on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. Those students who attend one of these sessions will receive a book bag with school supplies included. Children must be 5 years of age before Aug. 1 to register for kindergarten. You will need the following five documents in order to register: 1. proof of age (child's birth certificate) 2. child's immunization records 3. child's social security card 4. proof of a well-child physical 5. proof of residence in the Marion School District (one of the following): — rent receipt — mortgage statement — utility bill or Marion water bill Proof of residence must be current and must have physical address and parent's name on the document) If you have any questions, please call 870-735-4588.
