Magdaline Tunson Boatman, 93, of West Memphis, died Monday, April 25, 2016, in Willowbend at Marion Care Home. Visitation Friday, May 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Anthony Funeral Home Chapel State Room. Services Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. in Old St. Paul M. B. Church, West Memphis with visitation one hour prior to service.
Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. She is survived by a brother, Shelly Tunson of West Memphis.
Hoyzell B. Henderson
Hoyzell B. Henderson, 59, of West Memphis, died Sunday, April 24, 2016, in Methodist University Hospital. Visitation Friday, May 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Anthony Funeral Home South Chapel. Services Saturday, May 7, 11 a.m. in Second St.
John M. B. Church, West Memphis with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial in Marion Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by his father, Fred Lee Henderson of West Memphis; his mother, Mae Liza Ousley of West Memphis; four daughters, LaCasha Perry, LaTrice Perry, LaSandra Perry and Angela Barbee of West Memphis; a son, Homero Henderson of West Memphis; two sisters, Shelia Henderson of Chicago, Illinois and Paula Burns of Brazille, Indiana; two brothers, Craig Henderson of Chicago, Illinois and Alonzo Henderson of Memphis; and seven grandchildren.

Rev. Dr. Grover Cleveland Simpson, Sr., 107, of Marked Tree, died Friday, April 29, 2016, in his home. Visitation on Friday, May 6 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Old St. Paul M.
B. Church, West Memphis with Memorial Services following from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Services Saturday, May 7, 12 noon in St. John M. B.
Church, Marked Tree with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Dr.
Simpson was called into the
ministry at the age of 32 at Lake Grove M. B. Church at Jericho. He became the Associate Minister of St.
Thomas M.
B. Church in Memphis, from 1943 to 1947, and from there became pastor of Union Grove M. B.
Church at Gilmore for 66 years. In November, 1955, Dr. Simpson also became the pastor of St. John M. B.
Church at Marked Tree for 57 years. He also pastored First Baptist Church at Joiner and Pilgrim Rest M. B. Church in Blytheville. For over thirtyseven years, Dr. Simpson served as Moderator of the East Arkansas District Association and served on the Board of Trustee at Arkansas Baptist College. Dr. Simpson received numerous other local, state and regional recognition throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Simpson of Marked Tree; two daughters, Crystal Carter of Cleveland, Ohio and Gloria Marie Nesby of Houston, Texas; a son, Dr.
Grover C. Simpson, Jr. of Memphis; 12 grandchildren; a host of great and great-great grandchildren. Anthony Funeral Home, West Memphis, in charge of services.
