Surf Club

The Secretary/Treasurer of the Surf Club position is now available. At this month’s Surf Club meeting the current secretary turned in her notice that May 31will be her last day. You must be a full time resident at Horseshoe Lake and have knowledge with QuickBooks/Excel Experience, is preferred. If interested contact, Kathy Davenport at 901-4614847.

Bass Tournament

Make plans to attend the 2016 Arkansas Bass Classic Tournament hosted by The Arkansas State Police, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-South. It will be at the Surf Club at Horseshoe Lake on May 14. There is a guaranteed $1,000.00 first place in the bass tournament. A kid’s fishing rodeo with prizes to be awarded. Also Arts & Crafts Vendors, Bounce House, Face Painting, Food, Music, Free Parking and Much More. V i s i t ArkansasBassClassic.com for more information. Plant Sale

The Crittenden County Master Gardener’s are gearing up for their annual Plant Sale on May 6-7. It will be in Marion at the Pavilion, across from the County Extension Office, located next to the Courthouse. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. It will be Mother’s Day Weekend so this will be a good time to get her gift(s). Some items included are Adirondack Tables & Chairs, flowering annuals and perennials, hanging baskets, stepping stones, containers, bird baths and much more. All proceeds go to the scholarship fund.

Clean-Ups

The Town of Horseshoe Lake will have dumpsters in place on May 13, at City Hall on Highland Dr. Dumpsters should be picked up on May 16. You are reminded to not place tires, paint cans or refrigerators in dumpsters.

Canal Gardens Property Owners Association will have their annual clean-up on May 14, with a rain date of May 21. Food information and Dumpster location will appear in May 6’s article.
