Dates set for A-State spring Coaches Caravan

A- State Golf Classic also set

ASU Media Relations JONESBORO, Ark. – The dates and locations for the Centennial Bank-sponsored Arkansas State Spring Coaches Caravan have been set, and Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir, Head Football Coach Blake Anderson and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Grant McCasland will be among athletics and university representatives touring the state and region May 16-19 to take part in four different social events hosted by the Red Wolves.

The Red Wolves Foundation will also be hosting its annual A-State Golf Classic event in conjunction with the Spring Coaches Caravan for the first time. The tournament will be played on Thursday, May 19, the final day of the tour, at the Chenal Country Club (10 Chenal Club Blvd., Little Rock), starting with an 11:00 a.m. lunch that will be followed by a 12:15 p.m. tee time. Along with the general public, all tournament participants are invited to attend the final Spring Coaches Caravan gathering at the “McAdams House”, located at 48 Chenal Circle in Little Rock and the home of Arkansas State University System President Dr. Charles Welch. The event is slated to start at approximately 5:00 p.m., when those in attendance will have the opportunity to hear from and interact with A-State officials and coaches.

The caravan will begin Monday, May 16, in Memphis and continue with subsequent Arkansas stops May 17 in Jonesboro and May 18 in Rogers prior to the Little Rock outing. AState mascot Howl will be in attendance at each location to welcome fans and alumni attending the free events.

“This has been a recordsetting year for A-State Athletics when it comes to performance in the classroom and championships,” said A-State Associate Athletics Director for External Relations Jason Martin. “We can’t wait to get out in the community and throughout the region to highlight all of the great things going on here in Jonesboro and fellowship with all of the passionate Red Wolves supporters in their own backyard. All events are free, open to the public and family friendly, so I’d like to invite everyone to come out and have a good time with us.”

The Memphis event will be held at Brookhaven Pub & Grill, located at 695 West Brookhaven Circle, from 5 to 7 p.m. The caravan will continue the next day at Tomlinson Stadium Baseball Deck in Jonesboro with an outdoor celebration starting at 4:45 p.m.
