Students shine thanks to MHS ‘ Sparkle Project’

Putting on some sparkle

Tamika Patterson (seated, left) and Dowell Taylor are this year’s recipients of the Sparkle Project. A non-profit organization, the Sparkle Project is headed up by Christy Tucker. Each year, she selected special needs students from an area high school and outfits them for a complete prom experience, including a limo, clothes, flowers, photos, the whole nine yards. “This helps bring awareness to individuals with special needs and promoted inclusion,” Tucker said.
