The Horseshoe Lake Ladies Bunko group was hosted this month by Lethia Jo Cupples. There was a roll off between Summer Bacon and Debby Allison for most big bunko’s, with Summer winning. Mary Cat Cupples had high score, Holly Bacon had low score and Jennifer Cox had the traveler’s pillow at the end of the night. The ladies enjoyed Ham, Green Bean Bacon Casserole and Sweet Potato Casserole, Rolls and Cherry Dump Cake.

Bid Packets

Grass cutting bid packets for the Town of Horseshoe Lake are now available to be picked up at City Hall, on Highland Dr. They may be picked up during regular office hours and submitted at the April Town meeting on April 4, where they will be opened.

Easter

The Town of Horseshoe Lake will have an Easter Egg Hunt on March 19, at 1 p.m., at City Hall/Park on Highland Dr. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance and pictures can be taken by phones or their camera’s . Anyone wishing to donate, eggs, candies, cookies, cupcakes, etc., can contact Marsha Siders at 870-394-2476. Should it rain, the event will take place inside City Hall.

Town Meeting

The regular monthly meeting was rescheduled for March 14, at 6:30 p.m., at City Hall on Highland Dr. due to the passing, of the Town/Recorder’s mother.

Pancake Breakfast

The Horseshoe Lake Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Pancake Breakfast at the Fire Station on Lake Estates Dr. It will be from 7 to 9 a.m. in the downstairs bay. This would be a good time to come and see the new truck and support your local fire department. Also a reminder that your 2016 Fire Dues are due. Everyone whether inside the Town or outside should pay $50 annually.

Condolences

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family of Betty Boozer, formerly of Horseshoe Lake, she passed away on March 5. And to the family of Linda Lewis of Canal Gardens who passed away on March 7.
