Jimmy L. Smith, 81, of Proctor, died Monday, March 7, 2016, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Smith was a US Navy veteran and member of the VFW in West Memphis as well as a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brady Alvin Smith and Mary Viola Reese Smith; as well as a brother, Eddie Ray Smith. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Donna Smith; a daughter, Lesa C. Pope (Danny) of West Memphis and a step-daughter, Angie Hambick of Covington, Tennessee; a sister, Irene Byram; one grandchild, Jaclyn Kelly; and two step-grandchildren, Shawna Sherrill and Taylor Hambick; three greatgrandchildren, Rachael, Chandler and Luke Kelly; and one step-great-grandchild, Joshua Chase Sherrill. Visitation will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis on Tuesday, March 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 9, at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
