The Earle Music Coterie met at the Earle Baptist Church Feb. 18.

Rev. Tony Wells, president, presided and led the reading of the Club Collect.

The group sang “Daisy Bell” led by Janis Lancaster and accompanied by Susie Jones. Mary Jo Staggs gave the story of the song.

Donna Hooker read the poem, “A Flower Plucked” by Bryan Speed, taken from his book “Pondering Thoughts.”

Janis Lancaster was in charge of the program. She introduced the Parkman sisters, (Susie Jones, Christy Gross and Martie Ramsey) who presented the program entitled “Love Songs Through The Decades.”

Susie played a piano solo from 1929, “Ain’t Misbehaving” and “Love Is Blue” from the year 1967.

Martie sang “If Not For Me” by George Gershwin, a song from the 1930’s and Christy sang “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”

They were accompanied by Susie.

The three sisters sang “Sincerely” as a trio.

Rev. Stacie Grubbs and Donna Hooker were Cohosts. They served sandwiches, cheese ball, crackers, nuts, party mix, cake and cream puffs.

Other members present were Jimmie Barham, Elleen Holloway, Christine Littlejohn, Dot McKinney, Jane Speed, Frankie Swindle and Sue Ann Elms.

Visitors included Allison Bird, Brennan Bird, Tommy Staggs, Terri Watson, Ken Lancaster and Eric Elms.

*** The 39er’s of the Earle Baptist Church had dinner at Johnson’s Fish House in Wynne Feb. 26.

Included were Charlene and Elbert Person, Frankie Swindle, Doug Manchester, Kay and Rev. Bill Watt, Christine Litttlejohn, Sue Ann Elms, Tanya Pate, Vickey and Rev. Tony Wells, chairman of the group, and Darrell Pruitt of Jonesboro.

*** Janis Lancaster and Frankie Swindle, Ann Pickering-Philyaw and her husband Bob were at Wynne Baptist Church Feb. 25 where they attended the Senior Adult Rally.

*** Jimmie Beauchamp of Fayetteville spent last weekend in the home of Jimmie Barham.

*** Ababy dedication was held during the worship service at First Assembly of God Church Feb. 21.

Grayson Jude Adams, three month old son of Krista and Jordan Adams and Ryland Keith Coleman son of Lauren Richards, who is two months old, were dedicated and presented with Bibles engraved with their names and also anointing oil.

*** The Canasta Club met at the home of Kaye Lehman in Marion recently.

Judy Tacker Sharp of Marked Tree won high score, Debbie Franks of Tyronza won second, Brenda Shempert of Wynne won low and Lou Burns of Marked Tree won Bingo.

Others present were Mary Jane Edwards and Terre Rodgers of Earle and Bobbie Estes of Jonesboro.

*** Members of Lighted Pathways Church would like to express their appreciation for the support given to them during the soup and chili luncheon held recently. Rev. Frances Gamble is pastor.
