Boys, girls sweep Yellowjackets at home

West Memphis School District The West Memphis soccer teams opened their seasons Tuesday with a pair of wins at home over Wynne.

The boys demolished Wynne 6-0 and the girls outlasted Wynne 6-4.

The Blue Devil boys started strong against Wynne and put the game out of reach by the midway point of the game.

Senior Margarito Gudino stroked a game-high three goals for the Blue Devils while Dylan Wigginton, Chris Blakely and Tristan Thompson all had one apiece.

In the girls game, the Lady Devils went up 2-0 early on a goal at the 37:07 mark by Paige Bowser with an assist to Robin Pulliam. Later, at the 33:28 mark of the first half, Pulliam punched in a goal to give the hosts a mutlplegoal lead. Bowser went off for four goals in the game while the other goal came from Tabetha Troxler.
