Recent gun control e_orts seem to be ‘backring’

Isn’t it interesting that every time Obama spouts off about his disdain for the Second Amendment and his relentless attempt to disarm the millions of Americans who own guns that gun sales hit record levels?

An interesting FoxNews.com story recently pointed out that Obama’s ongoing push for gun control is actually backfiring, and according to critics, new federal data shows Americans are more interested than ever in getting their hands on a firearm.

So seems that Obama, a man on a mission to derail the mighty National Rifle Association (NRA), is one of its best salespersons and he didn’t even know it.

With that in mind, we’re sure the NRA gun lovers are encouraging Obama to keep up the good work he’s doing to put more guns in the hands of lawabiding citizens concerned over their safety in cities such as Obama’s hometown of Chicago, a criminal war zone with some of the toughest gun laws and the highest number of violent crimes.

According to federal data, a record 23,141,970 background checks were conducted on prospective gun buyers in 2015, up 15 percent from the previous year and nearly double the figure from 2008, the year before Obama took office.

As one Second Amendment advocate pointed out, if what Obama is trying to do in stopping people from buying guns, it is clear that it is not working so well. Let’s make it clear that gun ownership was rising well before Obama took office, according to a 2012 Congressional Research report. The study found that civilians owned 242 million guns in 1996; 259 million in 2000; and 310 million in 2009. More recent official statistics are unavailable, but the Washington Post used manufacturing data and information from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to estimate the number of guns in America stood at about 357 million in 2013.

Furthermore, it is clear gun ownership has risen dramatically under Obama, who supporters and critics alike believe may be the most outspoken proponent of gun control ever to occupy the White House.

Here are some interesting FBI statistics as of 2015: — The 3,314,594 background checks conducted by the FBI in December 2015 were the highest monthly total on record.

— In the first year of George W. Bush’s presidency, 2001, there were 8,910,191 background checks. The number rose to 12,709,023 in the last year before Bush left office.

— The average gun-owning household now owns 8.1 guns, as opposed to 4.2 guns in 1994 based on surveys and the ATF data.

As both sides of this issue are fully aware, Obama, through his abusive use of executive actions, announced plans earlier this month to expand background checks to almost anyone buying a firearm, covering purchases online, at gun shows and in other venues.

Naturally, and as expected, gun control advocates hailed Obama’s executive actions that were deliberately done without the input from our elected congressmen and representatives in Congress.

In conclusion, let’s make it vividly clear that this one man, who obviously is acting as if he were a dictator, is taking action and making decisions that is dividing this country in ways we haven’t experienced in decades.
