FBC Marion to hold Volleyball tourney

March 12 event to benefit student mission to Puerto Rico

ralphhardin@gmail.com Teams are forming now for what promises to be a good time for a good cause when Marion First Baptist plays host to “¡Viva La Voleibol!”

The event is a one-day adult (16-and-over) co-ed volleyball tournament at the FBC gym, on Saturday, March 12, beginning at 9 a.m.

The cost is $10 per player, and all proceeds will go directly toward the First Student Ministry’s youth mission trip to Puerto Rico this summer. Men and women, young and old, of all levels of skill and experience are welcome to take part. Teams will be co-ed (with a minimum of three ladies on the court at all times). Games will be 6on-6 (although teams may have more or less than six, but a maximum of six on the court at one time).

Teens 13-15 may play if a parent also plays.

“¡Viva La Voleibol!” will feature round-robin pool play followed by a singleelimination tournament to determine an overall winner. A trophy will be presented to the winning team.

The deadline for registration for is Monday, March 7, leaving plenty of time to make a team and get signed up for this worthy benefit tournament.
