3rd annual show opens Thursday at ASU Mid- South

www.deltarts.org Mid-South Health Services is partnering again with ASU Mid-South and DeltaARTS to host the third annual Mid-South Health Systems art show, “Art and Soul III.”

The opening reception, which will provide refreshments and live music, is Thursday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at ASU Mid-South's Donald W.

Reynolds Center, 2000 W.

Broadway, West Memphis.

The exhibit will hang through March 29, and will be open to the public Monday- Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For almost five decades, Mid-South Health Systems has been a vital part of eastern Arkansas communities, continually growing and expanding to ensure the best mental health services available. “Art and Soul III,” a creative journey toward recovery, features art works in a variety of media and styles that Mid-South Health System clients have been working on for the last year.

“Having this art exhibition provides an opportunity for our clients to give back to the community and a real way to offset the stigma that is often associated with mental illness,” says Kathy Daniel, Mid-South Health Services Art Therapist and well-known local visual artist. “We believe creating art helps with self-esteem and the management of symptoms related to mental illness, while providing an independent source of income for those willing to work on their skills.”

All of the artwork at the exhibit will offered for sale, and all proceeds go directly to the client artists.

To purchase art pieces after opening night, please contact Alex Smith at DeltaARTS at (870)7326260 or awsmith@deltaarts.org.
