I’m concluding that there is something out there that not being verbalized. If dance companies say it is lack of registrations, could we find out why?”

“We did a survey my first year,” said Beasley. “The results were what everyone is saying. Since then, we’ve been communicating directly to the dance companies.”

Commissioners asked Beasley to resume participant surveys. While improvements to the audio visual capabilities are underway in the civic center, and updating furniture and fixtures next on the to-do list there, no improvements have been considered in the auditorium itself. Commissioners thought survey results would point out needed upgrades that would attract and retain clients booking RiverPAC.

“Do that survey again this year,” said Taylor, “so that we can figure out what it makes sense for us to fund for the future. I would also like to know why the company

Beasley also reported a delay to the start of technical upgrades for the flat-surfaced meeting rooms at Eugene Woods Civic Center. The project had been given a green light and was expected to start but has not.

“We are almost there, but not quite,” said Beasley. “I just got the contract back from the city attorney today. There were a lot of comments and corrections. I think it is just a formality. We should be fine. We should be off and running before the February meeting.”
